In the area of Apokoronas and specifically in Vamos, in a study area adjacent to a forest, we designed a single-floor vacation house that will be used, apart from family vacations, as a short-term rental accommodation. So the purpose was initially to cover the needs of the family as well as the rest of the users of the residence.

The plot is flat and is surrounded by two roads, one of which is relatively a busy road. On the other two sides we have the forest and an organic olive grove. Analyzing the data, we designed a ground-floor volume of a building which in a U shape creates a filter from the streets and an introversion towards the courtyard spaces that print all the rooms of the house. The building is made of stone, using stones from the area, with exposed slab and inverted reinforced concrete beams.
Internally from the beams on the roof, flat solar panels have been installed , which "disappear" inside the roof and offer energy efficiency. By keeping the two large cypress trees and integrating one into the volume of the building, a large patio was created that separates the living areas from the sleeping areas and at the same time creates an outdoor barbeque area. The "hug" that is created, in addition to the microclimate and the feeling of privacy and tranquility, also offers a wonderful view of the white mountains that are right in front of the terrace with the pool.
The entrance spot is in the middle of the building, leading to the kitchen area, the dining room, the living room and the guest wc. Behind the kitchen is a large bedroom with bathroom, wardrobe room and office, as well as a semi-outdoor seating space. This space meets the couple's needs for complete isolation and work, inside or outside, while staying at home, keeping a distance from other users.
The living room adjoins the patio, with the glass corridor leading to the remaining bedrooms. This glass corridor of the building with the large cypress, deprives the monotony of the large volume. Next in line are three bedrooms with a bathroom each and a control room. All the areas of the house have transparent openings with the main openings being North-West orientated and expanding to the single terrace.
The 50-meter terrace has a swimming pool in the center, positioned in such a way that the entire mountain range of the White Mountains is reflected on it and makes this view visible through all the areas of the building. To walk the house from one end to the other, one would need to walk 68 meters and the closer one gets to the center, the osmosis of the users intensifies, while the further one moves away from the center, the more privacy. Going out into the courtyard, one is essentially in the outdoor living room with its summer uses and going down five steps from the veranda, one meets the nature, as there is no other intervention in the rest of the property.
